Your Questions Answered

We've worked with 90+ schools and heard every question. Here are clear, honest answers to help you make the best decision for your students.

About The Program

What exactly is Eric's program?

It's a high-energy concert experience combined with authentic storytelling and mental health messaging, followed by a comprehensive School Kit with ready-to-use resources for teachers, students, and parents.

Eric performs music students actually listen to (contemporary sound, professionally produced) while sharing his personal story of overcoming adversity, finding purpose, and building resilience. The core message—"You're Not Alone"—addresses isolation, anxiety, and the mental health challenges your students face daily.

This isn't just entertainment. It's a mental health intervention designed to create immediate impact while providing months of follow-up support through the School Kit.

How long is the concert?

It depends on the package:

- Essential Concert Experience: 1 hour

- Extended Impact Event: 2 hours (concert + workshop)

- Full-Day Transformation: 3-4 hours (multiple sessions)

- Grad Retreat Special: 2-3 hours (customized)

All timings are flexible and can be adjusted to fit your schedule.

What age groups is this appropriate for?

Eric's program works exceptionally well for grades 4-12.

- Elementary (Grades 4-6): Eric tailors messaging to be age-appropriate, focusing on belonging, kindness, overcoming challenges, and having supportive people around you.

- Middle School (Grades 7-9): Perfect fit. Students are navigating identity, peer pressure, and early mental health challenges. Eric's authenticity breaks through their defenses.

- High School (Grades 10-12): Students connect deeply with Eric's story, music, and practical tools for managing stress, relationships, and future transitions.

We can also customize for specific grade ranges or multiple sessions for different age groups (Full-Day package).

Is this a religious program?

No. While Eric has performed at Catholic schools where faith integration was welcomed, the core program focuses on secular mental health, personal growth, resilience, and community.

The message centers on:

- You're not alone in your struggles

- Surrounding yourself with supportive people

- Overcoming adversity and finding purpose

- Practical mental health skills (journaling, mindfulness, emotional processing)

- Building a positive school culture

Eric's program is appropriate for all public schools and any school seeking mental health and social-emotional learning support.

What makes this different from other school assemblies?

Five key differences:

1. Authentic Connection - Eric's story is real, not scripted. Students sense it immediately and engage differently than with typical motivational speakers.

2. Music Students Actually Listen To - Contemporary, professionally produced music that students would choose on their own. This is the hook that gets them to listen to the message.

3. Comprehensive Follow-Up - Most assemblies end when students leave. We provide a complete School Kit with months of resources to extend impact.

4. Teacher Support - We don't just inspire students and leave teachers to figure out next steps. Ready-to-use lesson plans, discussion guides, and materials require zero prep time.

5. Proven Track Record - 90+ schools, 100% satisfaction rate, every school wants Eric back. This isn't experimental—it works.

Can the program be customized for our school's specific needs?

Absolutely! We customize:

- Duration and format - Fit your schedule and structure

- Grade-specific messaging - Tailor content to developmental levels

- Breakout sessions - Age-appropriate small group activities

- Branded materials - Add your school crest/logo (Grad package)

- Focus areas - Emphasize specific themes (transitions, relationships, resilience)

- Multiple sessions - Different content for different grade levels

- Grad Retreat Special: Delivered before the event with branded customization

No training required—that's the whole point!

The School Kit is designed to be turnkey and ready-to-use:

- Lesson plans include step-by-step instructions

- Discussion guides provide question sequences and facilitation tips

- Journaling prompts are self-explanatory for students

- Parent materials can be shared as-is

However, we do offer:

- 30-minute staff orientation (included in Extended Impact package)

- 60-90 minute staff workshop (included in Full-Day package)

- Implementation support via email/video resources

Most teachers start using materials the week after the concert with zero additional prep.

How does the licensing work? Can we share materials with other schools?

Licensing Terms:

- License duration: 3-6 months (12 months for Grad package)

- Scope: Single school use only

- Materials: Licensed, not sold—you can use them during the license period but don't own perpetual rights

- Sharing: Materials may NOT be shared with other schools (each school needs its own license)

- Extensions: Available for $500-$1,000 to extend your license

Why licensing?

The School Kit represents significant professional development investment. Licensing ensures fair compensation while keeping costs accessible for schools.

What happens after license expires?

You retain access to materials you've already used/adapted for your classroom, but you can no longer distribute original digital files or make new copies of physical materials.

Is the School Kit aligned with curriculum standards?

Yes. The School Kit is designed to support:

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Competencies:

- Self-awareness

- Self-management

- Social awareness

- Relationship skills

- Responsible decision-making

Provincial Curriculum Connections:

- Alberta: Wellness curriculum outcomes, mental health literacy

- Saskatchewan: Health education, well-being indicators, CSCH approach

Evidence-Based Practices:

- Journaling for emotional regulation

- Mindfulness and reflection

- Positive psychology frameworks

- Community-building strategies

The materials complement your existing mental health and wellness programming.

What if our teachers don't have time to use the resources?

This is exactly why we created turnkey, zero-prep materials.

Time investment required:

- To start using: 0-5 minutes (open file, read instructions)

- Per lesson/activity: 15-45 minutes of class time (no prep before)

- To customize/adapt: Optional, if teachers want to personalize

Many teachers report the School Kit SAVES them time because:

- They don't have to create SEL curriculum from scratch (20+ hours saved)

- Students are already engaged from concert (easier classroom discussions)

- Ready-made parent communications (no crafting newsletters)

Bottom line: Even if teachers only use 2-3 activities from the Kit, students still benefit enormously. There's no pressure to use everything.

Technical Requirements

What equipment/space do we need to provide?

Minimal requirements:

Space:

- Gymnasium, auditorium, large multipurpose room, or cafeteria

- Capacity for your student audience (seated or standing)

- Stage or performance area (even a cleared floor space works)

Equipment:

- Sound system - PA system with microphone inputs (we can advise on specs)

- Screen/projector - Optional but recommended for visuals

- Power outlets - For Eric's equipment (guitar, laptop, etc.)

Setup:

- Access 30-45 minutes before start time for setup and sound check

We provide a detailed technical requirements guide when you book, including sound system specifications and setup diagrams.

Our school doesn't have a great sound system. Is that a problem?

Not necessarily. We can work with most basic PA systems.

Options:

- Use what you have - We'll make it work and provide guidance on optimal setup

- Rent equipment - We can recommend local rental companies (usually $100-200)

- We bring backup equipment - In some cases, for an additional fee

Contact us to discuss your specific setup—we've performed in everything from state-of-the-art auditoriums to small rural school gyms. We'll find a solution.

Do we need to provide food or accommodations for Eric?

Food:

If the concert is during a meal time (e.g., over lunch), we appreciate if you can provide a simple meal for Eric and any team members traveling with him. Nothing elaborate—whatever staff are eating is perfect.

Accommodations:

Not typically needed for local Alberta/Saskatchewan bookings (Eric can travel same-day).

For remote locations or multi-day bookings, we may request hotel accommodation. We'll discuss this during booking if applicable.

Transparency note: We've heard feedback about keeping meal costs reasonable. We'll communicate needs clearly upfront and keep it simple.

Student Engagement

What if our students don't engage or think this is "lame"?

In 90+ school concerts, we have never received negative feedback about student engagement.

Here's why students engage:

1. Music They Actually Like - Contemporary sound, professionally produced. Not "Christian rock" or "old person music." Students listen to Eric's songs on Spotify by choice.

2. Authentic Story - Eric doesn't preach or lecture. He shares real struggles—heartbreak, failure, finding purpose. Students sense when someone's real vs. performing.

3. Interactive Format - Q&A, call-and-response, student participation. It's not just sitting and listening.

4. Peer Validation - Once a few students visibly engage, others follow. The energy is contagious.

Common student reactions:

- "Best presentation I've ever seen" (most common feedback)

- "Can you come back?" / "We miss you already"

- Students DMing Eric afterward to thank him

- Students asking parents to follow Eric on social media

- Students still talking about it days later

Check out our Testimonials Page for dozens of real student responses.

We have students with sensory sensitivities. Will the concert be too loud/intense?

Great question—we want all students to have a positive experience.

The concert IS high-energy with music, which means:

- Amplified sound (though we adjust volume to space)

- Visual elements (lights, projected images if available)

- Crowd energy (cheering, clapping, singing along)

Recommendations for students with sensitivities:

- Noise-canceling headphones - Have these available for students who use them

- Seating options - Allow sensitive students to sit near exits or in less crowded areas

- Breaks - Students can step out briefly if needed

- Preview - Let students know what to expect beforehand

We can also:

- Adjust volume levels if needed

- Provide quieter moments throughout the program

- Coordinate with your student services team on accommodations

One principal noted: "Some of our students struggled with all the stimulus... it may be worth consideration to share that students who utilize noise-cancelling headphones may benefit from having them readily available." We now proactively communicate this.

Will this work for our student population? We have [insert your specific demographic/challenge].

Eric's program has successfully engaged diverse student populations:

- Urban and rural schools - Calgary Catholic schools to small rural Alberta communities

- Diverse cultural backgrounds - The message of "you're not alone" is universal

- Varying socioeconomic levels - Relatable regardless of background

- Students facing significant challenges - Mental health struggles, behavior issues, disengagement

- High-performing students - They also face anxiety and pressure

- Elementary through high school - Age-appropriate messaging for each level

The core themes resonate across demographics:

- Everyone struggles sometimes

- Belonging and connection matter

- Supportive relationships are crucial

- You have more strength than you realize

If you have specific concerns about fit for your population, contact us to discuss. We can customize messaging and provide examples of similar schools we've served.

What funding sources can we use to pay for this?
